elmax steel
Elmax steel, crafted by Uddeholm in Sweden, is celebrated for its exceptional properties in knife-making. It combines high wear and corrosion resistance with superior edge retention, offering an ideal balance of hardness and toughness that reduces the risk of chipping. Elmax steel is relatively easy to sharpen, allowing for a very fine edge. It’s an outstanding choice for high-performance knives.

UNIQUE BLADE SHAPE
This blade shape is actually based on my “HUBERT” fixed-blade hunting knife. After years of refinement and testing, it has proven its worth across a variety of tasks. The narrow, pointed blade allows for detailed cutting and carving, much like a scalpel, making it ideal for intricate work in confined spaces. Plus, it’s perfect for tearing through Amazon boxes without mercy.
-
grade 5 6AL-4V titanium
To minimize parts and maximize strength and ease of disassembly, the RAMBLER’s frame lock is crafted from 4mm grade 5 6AL-4V titanium.
A hardened steel insert has been added to the lock spring to prevent wear and lock stick. The ball-bearing system enables the knife to flip open smoothly with one hand, and the guard doubles as the flipper tab.
-
hunting heritage
Rooted in a hunting heritage, this knife is perfect for skinning game, deboning, and cleaning fish. It also shines in the kitchen, making food preparation effortless. The slight downward curve at the tip is a small yet significant feature, designed to prevent cutting into the insides of whatever you’re working on.
So, whether you’re out in the wild or whipping up a meal, this knife has got you covered.
-
maintenance
The insides of the scales are kept flat for easy cleaning. Unlike most frame locks, the cutout for the lock spring is wider, ensuring that nothing gets trapped and making cleaning much easier. If you’ve ever tried to clean a folding knife, you know how valuable this feature is—often an overlooked aspect in knife design.
-
Versatility
The versatility of the Rambler is undoubtedly its greatest strength. Its unique yet highly functional blade shape appeals to a wide range of users—hunters, woodcarvers, adventurers, overlanders, and for cooking on the trail. The continuous curve ensures that the point of contact consistently maximizes force, delivering superior cutting performance compared to straight blades, which distribute force over a longer length and are therefore less effective.
-
ENGRAVINGS
Each knife in individually numbered. The handle of the RAMBLER also features a stunning engraving—a prehistoric depiction of a hunter-gatherer discovered in the 19th century.
The figure, holding a spear, is a powerful symbol and a timeless reminder that the knife is humanity’s oldest tool, as essential today as it was thousands of years ago.
-
safety
An essential safety feature is the guard, which also functions as the flipper tab. This feature is indispensable for tasks beyond simple ones like peeling an apple, as it prevents your hand from slipping onto the blade and causing injury. The guard is both checkered and chamfered to enhance comfort and ensure a secure grip.
A precision-milled titanium clip allows the knife to be carried comfortably without creating bulk in your pocket.
